Pokémon TCG Pocket Unveils Mega Shine: New Expansion with Rare Shiny Cards
The Pokémon Company has officially announced its upcoming B2B expansion entitled Mega Shine, a themed booster pack set set to launch on March 25, 2026, at 6 PM PDT, as detailed in the official Pokémon website.
The reveal trailer spotlighted the standout Shiny Mega Gengar EX as the primary chase card, alongside another highly sought-after card, the shiny Mega Charizard X EX. Fans are eager to add these powerful cards to their collections, hoping to pull them from booster packs.
In addition to the star chase cards, the Mega Shine expansion will also include numerous baby shinies like Ponyta, Zorua, Dragonair, and Pineco, each boasting unique characteristics. Stat-wise, Mega Gengar and Mega Charizard X both have over 200 HP and can deal over 100 damage per hit. As Stage 2 cards, you will need their respective Stage 1 evolutions to play them in a Pokémon battle.
The announcement trailer also featured other cards, including Empoleon, Phione, Slowpoke, Morpeko, Scyther, Calem Trainer, and the non-shiny variants of Mega Gengar EX and Mega Charizard X EX. Whether the full art chase cards will include animated intros remains unknown.
