February 27 marks a significant occasion in the Pokémon universe, as it celebrates the launch of the original Pokémon games in Japan. Enthusiasts across the globe recognize this as ‘Pokémon Day,’ and in 2026, we’ll commemorate its 30th anniversary in style!

To kick off the festivities, The Pokémon Company has unveiled a special 30th Anniversary Pokémon Day TCG Collection. This limited set includes a foil Pikachu promo card stamped for the occasion, a stylish metallic coin featuring the anniversary logo, and three booster packs from the Phantasmal Flames and Mega Evolution series.

Pokémon TCG: Pokémon Day 2026 Collection

This 30th Anniversary TCG Collection from Pokémon is creating quite a buzz and can be found at major retailers. However, prices are fluctuating since its launch, so savvy shoppers should strategize their purchases.

In the inaugural week of its release, TCGplayer noted a low sale of $18.79, but the average market price has since climbed to around $26-$27. That’s a significant drop from the earlier $50 price point, still slightly exceeding the expected MSRP of $17.99. As a result, there’s been a 58.87% decrease in resale value within just a month, making it an opportune time for fans to grab this collection.

For those seeking the best current price directly from a major retailer, Amazon leads with a price of $38.99, although there have been reports of drops to $26.99 previously, so keep an eye out if you’re looking to save!

Best Buy is also stocked at $49.99, though this is from a third-party seller. Meanwhile, Target has already sold out of their stock at $17.99—not surprising given the hype!

If you’re aiming for a purchase under $20, it’s wise to monitor local inventories or set alerts for online restocks from trusted sellers. Keep in mind, these prices are reflective of US retailers, so international buyers should consider shipping costs.

For those interested in reselling, it might be a tough market. Since the collection lacks exclusive anniversary packs, the Pokémon TCG’s 30th Anniversary TCG Collection isn’t likely to yield a significant profit.

Nevertheless, while the Pikachu foil promo card may not feature an exclusive design, its status as the first official 30th-anniversary release could hold value for collectors in the years to come. I’d recommend obtaining two sets at or close to MSRP—one for your collection and another to open and enjoy.

Moreover, keep an eye out for the upcoming First Partner Illustration Collection series, set to debut on March 20. This exciting release will feature a Promo Booster Pack, where you can pull three of nine rare-style illustration promo cards showcasing beloved first partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Squirtle, or Charmander.

Additionally, there’s still one more Pokémon TCG set on the horizon for the first quarter of the year – Perfect Order. You can preorder it at current market prices via TCGplayer. We’re also anticipating the official confirmation of the highly speculated next expansion for Mega Evolution, titled Chaos Rising.
