Guide to the Pokémon TCG: Journey Together Set
The Journey Together set is set to release on March 28, 2025, with prereleases running from March 15 to 23. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting new set!
1. Set Composition
The Journey Together set merges elements from Japan’s Battle Partners and leftover cards from the ex Starter Deck Generations. Notably, only the Zacian ex and Koraidon ex cards have been omitted, as they will be featured as promos for May’s Slashing Legends Tins. You can explore the full set composition here.
2. New Rarity Upgrades
Several cards have received enhancements in this set, moving from uncommon to rare holo. Cards benefiting from this upgrade include Butterfree, Ludicolo, Metagross, Lillie’s Ribombee, Regirock, and Noivern. These changes add more value for collectors seeking rare cards.
3. Booster Box Variants
For the first time, Journey Together will include two distinct booster boxes: a standard version and an “Enhanced” version, which will feature an exclusive N’s Reshiram promo card stamped with the Journey Together logo. This booster box design is a nod to nostalgia, as it’s the first to include a box topper since Generation III.
- Americas Availability: Only the Enhanced version will be available.
- Europe Availability: Both versions will be sold, but most stores will likely stock just the regular one. The Enhanced Booster Box can be found at select hobby stores and the Pokémon Center UK website.
4. Store Promotions
Promotional cards are always a highlight of new sets:
- Best Buy: A holo Hop’s Dubwool with a Journey Together stamp will be available with $15 in Pokémon TCG purchases.
- GameStop: A holo Hop’s Snorlax with a GameStop stamp will be available for the same purchase requirement.
- Southeast Asia: Some stores will offer a holo Hop’s Snorlax promo as well, stamped with the set logo.
5. New Language for TCG
This set marks the first time Pokémon TCG will be printed in a new language: Latin American Spanish. This includes better localization for set names, attack names, and Pokédex entries, enhancing the gaming experience for Latin American fans.
6. Future English Sets
Following Journey Together, the next English set titled Destined Rivals is set to release on May 30, 2025. It will pull cards from Japan’s The Glory of Team Rocket, Heat Wave Arena, and the Marnie and Steven decks.
- You can find more about these upcoming sets on the Pokémon Center.
With these insights, you’re well-equipped to dive into the Journey Together set. Whether you’re a collector or a competitive player, this set offers a wealth of opportunities for both enjoyment and investment. Be sure to grab your cards during the prerelease events and take advantage of the store promotions!
