Just 11 days ago, the highly anticipated Pokémon Opening Scene Collection was officially announced, captivating fans of the beloved franchise. Inspired by Generation One, this collection features an array of accessories for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) alongside stylish apparel. Each piece showcases a striking black and gold depiction of an epic battle between Gengar and Nidorino, reminiscent of the iconic opening from Pokémon Red and Blue. On Pokémon Day yesterday, the collection was made available, and as expected, demand soared, leading to rapid sell-outs.

Currently, items from the Pokémon Opening Scene Collection can be purchased exclusively through the official Pokémon Center online store. There is no indication yet as to whether the Pokémon Company will restock these sought-after items or distribute them to other retailers in the future.

In terms of TCG accessories, the Opening Scene playmat has regrettably already sold out. However, the double deck box and card sleeves remain available for purchase.

Beyond accessories, a variety of apparel including t-shirts, hoodies, jumpers, mugs, and hats are still on sale, although some sizes are already out of stock. Unfortunately, all of the Opening Scene pins have also sold out.

Nostalgia plays a crucial role in spurring consumer interest, and this collection effectively leverages that sentiment. The elegant black and gold design is a nostalgic nod to the limited color palette of the original Pokémon games, demonstrating the effort behind this line.

Are you planning to get your hands on this collection, or do you feel you’ve seen it all before? Whether you’re team Gengar or Nidorino, share your thoughts on these trending accessories over on the Wargamer Discord.
